Cherubs Academy Centre Philosophy Statement
At Cherubs Academy, we respectfully acknowledge the Yuggera, Turrbal, and Yugambeh peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, learn, and grow here in Logan Central. We honour the connection to land, waters, and culture, and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging. We are committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our curriculum and practice to foster awareness, respect, and reconciliation.
Cherubs Academy is a warm, inclusive service which celebrates diversity and ensures every child, family, and educator feels welcomed, respected, and valued. We believe that a strong sense of belonging, being, and becoming forms the foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.
Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and My Time, Our Place (MTOP), our programs are designed to be child-centred, reflective, and developmentally appropriate. We promote hands-on experiences that empower children to explore, question, create, and connect with others in meaningful ways.
We recognise and honour families as a child’s first teachers. We actively promote family involvement and collaboration through open communication, shared planning, and opportunities for parents to engage in our practices. We also work in partnership with local community organisations and services to strengthen our connections and support networks for children and families. By engaging with the broader community, we help children develop a sense of social responsibility and belonging beyond the centre, while also connecting families with valuable resources and community supports.
Our team of dedicated, professional educators are passionate about supporting every child’s learning and development. Through ongoing training, reflective practice, and a commitment to excellence, we provide a nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow into confident, capable individuals.
At Cherubs Academy, we are committed to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices, aligning with Quality Area 3 of the National Quality Standard. We believe in educating children about their role in caring for the environment through daily experiences such as gardening, recycling, reducing waste, conserving water, and reusing materials creatively. Families are invited to contribute ideas fostering a shared responsibility to strengthen connections between home and centre practices.
Aligned with the National Quality Standard (NQS), Cherubs Academy is dedicated to continuous improvement, inclusive practice, and the delivery of high-quality early childhood education and care. We strive to cultivate a learning community where children thrive, families are empowered, and educators are deeply engaged in meaningful and ethical practice.
